Even though German photographer Juergen Teller is no stranger to controversy (his photographs of Kristen McMenamy,for instance, still confuses me), we can all agree that he has blazed a trail in fashion photography with his defiantly unglamorous photos shot with his Contax G2 camera. Teller has shot campaigns for Marc Jacobs since 1998 – the collaboration saw him shoot the usually posh Victoria Beckham upside down in a bag and American artist Cindy Sherman with a far away look in her eyes. I myself love his portraits of Vivienne Westwood because of the intimacy they exude.
